Mission - to deliver security for the people of the
UK and Overseas Territories by defending them, including against
terrorism; and to act as a force for good by strengthening international
peace and stability.
The mission of the Armed Forces in Northern Ireland is to support
the Police in the defeat of terrorism and the maintenance of Public
Order in order to assist HMG's objective of a return normality.
The Ministry of Defence employs 90,000 civlilians throughout the
UNited Kingdom and overseas. In Northern Ireland we employ over
3,000 civilian staff working in support of the Navy, Army and Royal
Air Force. We are a dynamic, fast-moving multi-billion pound organisation
that is continually adapting to new challenges.
