The Chief Executives' Forum is the association of chief executive
officers of public bodies in Northern Ireland. The Forum aims to support the democratic
process by promoting excellence in public service and, in doing so, to encourage
innovation and develop its leaders. Its role is to provide an interagency forum within
which new ideas and ways of doing things can be explored, developed and supported.
With over 160 members and direct access to more than 2,000 senior officials the Forum
brings together the key public sector decision-makers from civil service departments,
agencies and local government. The Forum achieves this by providing a range of formal and
informal opportunities where members share expertise and learn from best practice.
Approximately 50 events are organised each year by the Forum - conferences, seminars,
briefings, lectures and other business meetings plus a number of training events. Included
are: meetings of the Smaller Public Bodies; the Women Chief Executives' Group and the
Women's Senior Executives' Network which is sponsored by the women's group.
